In a spectacular showroom overlooking the Straits of Georgia, Daphne Pool's art gallery and studio in the north end is an emporium of delights! You stroll through room upon room of amazing artwork's,floor to ceiling, in an attar decorated gallery.
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Daphne moved to Nanaimo in 1979. She worked as a draper for many years, both in a company and then in her own custom drapery business. But Daphne's passion was all but dormant-the passion to paint. She retired in 2007 and started concentrating on her art full time. Mainly self taught, Daphne is one of very few artists versed in so many varying styles, mediums and techniques, having achieved success in them all. Her artwork's range from gigantic and bold abstracts,through portraits floral and animal paintings, to miniatures. These are all done in acrylics,oils,charcoal and she has a desire to branch into water colours as well. Daphne is an ardent collector of antiques, loves her four cats and is passionate about gardening. She plans to have a spring show in her garden to showcase her artwork's at the end of May.
